Businessware Celebrates 10th Birthday
In August 1999, a new Windows accounting software product was launched. It was the product we now call Businessware.
11th August 1999 was the date of the solar eclipse which plunged parts of Cornwall into midday darkness and it was also the date Businessware was completed, signed off and ready for launch.
Businessware was the result of a breathless development process which often involved 100 hour working weeks for the development team.
It was the Windows incarnation of Suresoft's original, DOS-based accounting software product range, Sure Accounting, which had been on the market since 1992.
As Businessware celebrates it's 10th birthday we reveal the story behind the product and the remarkable set of circumstances which has seen the product succeed against the odds.
